Westbury High School Performance Highlights Diversity and Acceptance

The Multicultural performance at Westbury High School was an event that brought together students from various backgrounds to showcase their talents and traditions. The show was comprised of musical and dance performances from various parts of the world, including Latin America, Africa, and Asia. The students not only showcased their talents but also worked together to create performances that blended different elements to create something truly unique.

The event was a great success, providing a platform for students to celebrate diversity. WHS science teacher Andy Sanchez, “Through my involvement in the cultural assemblies at our school as a teacher, I have had the privilege of witnessing and learning about the diverse talents and cultures of the students at Westbury High School. These assemblies have taught me about how our students celebrate their unique identities and cultural backgrounds.” Junior Adelina Rodriguez agrees. Having participated in the assemblies for the past 3 years, she says that the performances have “given [me] the chance to learn new things about different cultures and learn to work and get along with new people.” This was an unforgettable experience that brought together students and teachers in celebration of diversity, and it is sure to be a cornerstone of the school’s cultural calendar for years to come.
