When one student achieves big as a community we are all rejoicing! Dragon pride is love, dedication, and strength. Westbury Boys Varsity Soccer Senior Captain, Abdiel V. has shown all this through his passion for the sport. Abdiel is a center midfielder and continues to show his efforts on and off the field. As a student athlete he has been a starter on the team for three years. Abdiel was honored on September 6th, 2024 with being named in “Newsdays’s Top 100” boys soccer players list. Our community celebrates with him this major accomplishment. 

 Abdiel expresses “It’s an absolute honor to be recognized as one of the Newsdays top 100 soccer players on Long Island.  This achievement reflects my dedication, hard work, and passion for the game.”   Westbury Union Free district is delighted to know each and everyday student like Abdiel are being recognized for their hard work. It brings us all joy to know that our students are doing what they love. We wish Abdiel the best of luck on his future endeavors and that as a family we are very proud of him! Congratulations to the boys soccer team and coaches Valentini and Garcia on a great season!
